Encourages volunteers at Amherst Survival Center

The Amherst Survival Center is an exceptionally remarkable place and has made the past three-plus years of my retirement most enjoyable and gratifying.

As a volunteer, time goes by so quickly when you are surrounded by people who simply enjoy helping one another. Jobs are varied and plentiful so there is always something for everyone to do.

I work in the food pantry where I perform a variety of tasks such as replenishing shelves with food supplies, sorting produce and shopping with our patrons. We volunteers may give our time but we receive so much more in return. Together, we care and we share. It’s as simple as that.

So, I ask you this: Do you have a few hours a week to share with us? We can always use extra hands so please come and join our wonderful community of volunteers. You will be so glad you did.
