FLORENCE — Police arrested a Conway woman Saturday morning after they say she stole a black BMW from a Locust Street home and then crashed it into a nearby fence and building.
Police responded to the Cumberland Farms gas station on Main Street in Florence at 8:26 a.m. after a woman parked in a no parking zone and had difficulty paying for the food she bought, police said.
The woman also reportedly crashed into a fence and building on nearby Bratton Court.
Police arrested Tara Kuzmeskus, 38, of Conway, after officers said they found her leaned up against a fence on High Street in the fetal position.
She faces eight charges: motor vehicle theft, a second offense on operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, using a motor vehicle in a felony/larceny, causing malicious damage to a motor vehicle, receiving a stolen motor vehicle and destruction of property over $250.
