Colleges: UMass women’s lacrosse cruses Niagara

The UMass women’s lacrosse team tied the program record for goals in a game as the Minutewomen routed Niagara, 25-11, Wednesday in DeLand, Florida.

It was the fourth straight win for UMass (5-2).

Kiley Anderson had six goals and Hannah Palau added four. Brinley Anderson, Emma Dotsikas, Cassidy Doster, Julia Smith and Olivia Muscella each scored twice.


Stetson 2, UMass 1 (9); UMass 15, Stetson 2 (6) — Kaycee Carbone hit two home runs and drove in four as the Minutewomen racked up a season-high 15 runs in a Game 2 win in a doubleheader split in DeLand, Florida.

Kiara Oliver struck out five and allowed five hits and one earned run over 8⅔ innings in Game 1 for UMass.

Amherst 8, Husson 5; Illinois Wesleyan, 8, Amherst 3 — Andrea Sanders was 3-for-4, Sammy Salustri and Alyson Plaman each had two hits, and Ronnie Falasco had three RBIs as the Mammoths won their opener in Clermont, Florida.

Amherst (5-1) had three hits in its Game 2 loss.

Women’s tennis

UMass 4, Richmond 3 — The Minutewomen (8-2) won their seventh straight match with the victory in Charleston, South Carolina.

Amherst 8, Case Western Reserve 1; Amherst 7, Washington (Mo.) 2 — The Mammoths (5-0) stayed perfect with the sweep in Orlando.
