High schools: Amelia Sobieski’s and-one lifts Frontier girls basketball past Lee

Amelia Sobieski converted an and-one with a minute to go to give the Red Hawks a 45-44 win at the Hoosac Valley Coaches vs. Cancer Classic in Cheshire on Saturday.

Her layup tied the game, and she made the free throw to give Frontier (8-3) the lead.

Marie Diemand hit two 3s and scored 10 points for Frontier.

Hampshire Regional 48, Mount Greylock 19 — Maggie Rubeck had 16 points and 10 rebounds in a dominant win Saturday.

The Raiders led 9-5 after a quarter then opened it up with 17 in the second.

Maddie Pond added 14 points and four rebounds. Katie Taylor pulled in nine rebounds, and Lila Labrie had eight rebounds.

Northampton 50, Brattleboro Union 29 — Amanda Mieczkowski scored 23 points in a road win Saturday.

Emily Sledzieski added seven points, and Jill McGrath had six for the Blue Devils (8-3).

Granby 49, Monument Mountain 31 — Nora Young scored 29 points to carry the Rams on Saturday.

Kayla McCreary added seven points for Granby (6-6).

Hockey

Greenfield 4, South Hadley 0 — Riley Drew earned his third shutout of the season Saturday, stopping all 16 shots.

Sean O’Sullivan, Kyle Barnes, Shane Prusak and Sammy Knight each found the net.

Mike McGoldrick picked up a pair of assists, with Bryan Baumann and Barnes also had an assist for the Green Wave (10-2).

Greenfield jumped out to a 2-0 lead after 15 minutes.

Anthony Cigal stopped 37 shots for the Tigers (6-4-1).
