Friday’s colleges: Boucher, UMass Dartmouth beat Mount Holyoke

Madison Boucher, of Southampton, made seven saves as the UMass Dartmouth women’s soccer team beat Mount Holyoke, 3-2 in double overtime, in its season opener Friday at home.

Hannah Finn-Erb (Amherst) and Sara Sanau Ruiz each scored, and Avia Jacobs had both assists for the Lyons (0-1).

Women’s volleyball

Brandeis 3, Smith College 0 — Caleigh Johnson had seven kills, while Amy Hagen, Elizabeth Peay and Kimani Freeman each had five but the Pioneers (0-1) fell on the road.

Men’s soccer

UMass 1, Columbia 1 — Jared McCleary scored and Bardia Asefnia made seven saves as the Minutemen notched a tie at home.

Casey Hamill had an assist for UMass (2-0-1).
