East Longmeadow woman ID’d as body found by Connecticut River

NORTHAMPTON — The body of a woman found Thursday by the Connecticut River has been identified as Holly M. Bell, 46, of East Longmeadow, the Northwestern district attorney’s office said.

The DA’s office says the death does not appear suspicious, and that the chief medical examiner will be determining the cause of death.

Northampton Police responded to the discovery of Bell’s body on Thursday morning, near the Norwottuck Rail Trail bridge on the Northampton side of the river.

The matter is being investigated by Northampton Police and Massachusetts State Police.
