Cites Sabadosa’s boldness, innovation

When I first read the campaign literature of Lindsay Sabadosa, candidate for state representative in the 1st Hampshire District, I was impressed because of the boldness and innovation.

When I heard her speak to the issues outlined in that literature, I was blown away with the seriousness and passion embedded in those words and her plan to implement those programs. We are very fortunate here in Hampshire County to have such a strong and capable choice for leadership at the local and state level.

I truly believe Sabadosa will make things happen on climate devastation, reproductive freedom, justice for all and, most importantly, health care (single payer). And she won’t just give lip service on alternative energy and push for little tweaks in what should be seen by all as a growing crisis. She intends to push for 100 percent renewables, lifting the caps on solar installations, east-west rail, and fighting the oil lobby funded by the Koch brothers.

We now have a unique choice: go with the status quo, or move in a new direction, realizing that boldness, innovation and new and unique ideas are essential. Are you happy with the status quo in Boston? Have we all become so used to the corruption and vested interests we see there, that we really don’t see it at all?

May I remind you that several of the House speakers in Boston have been convicted for bribes, obstruction of justice or other crimes. Legal lobbying by big oil and gas producers is still a corrupting influence. Not everyone who works within this government mess is corrupt, but tolerating it is its own problem.

Again, we need new, dynamic leadership to turn this around. We can do so much better and we deserve so much better. Let’s elect a fighter on Sept. 4.
