Thanks stranger for returning wallet

On Jan. 30, just before noon, I discovered that my wallet had vanished somewhere between the Hampshire Mall parking lot and the Planet Fitness locker room.

Only five minutes had elapsed since I left my car, so I retraced my steps, but the wallet was gone. My heart raced as I envisioned the potential for identity and financial theft that could follow if that wallet was now in the wrong hands. In desperation and expecting the worst, I went to the mall security office and found that a “30-something” man had turned it in.

I publicly thank that wonderful gentleman for his honesty and integrity. I was elated not only to have my wallet and all of its contents returned intact, but also to be reminded that despite the daily horrors of today’s news, that there are still more good people quietly making a difference than there are bad ones making headlines.

Thank you again, sir, whoever you are. May your kindness be returned to you 100-fold.
