The MIAA unveiled its state tournament brackets for baseball, softball and lacrosse on Wednesday, and the Hampshire Regional softball team highlighted area schools as the lone No. 1 overall seed.
The Raiders (19-1) earned top billing in the Division 4 bracket and received a bye into the Round of 32. Hampshire — the newly crowned Class B Western Massachusetts champions – will host the winner of No. 32 Upper Cape Cod Regional Voc Tech and No. 33 Saint Bernard’s on a date and time still to be determined.
Two more teams from Hampshire County earned top-10 seeds in the Div. 4 softball bracket in South Hadley (No. 9) and Frontier (No. 8).
The Tigers (13-7) will host No. 24 Northbridge in the Round of 32 on Monday at 5 p.m. The Redhawks (12-8) will play host to No. 25 Ayer-Shirley during the Round of 32, with that game set for Monday at 4 p.m.
In the Div. 5 tournament, Hopkins earned the No. 8 overall seed, plus a bye into the Round of 32. The Golden Hawks (16-4) will host the winner of No. 25 Pathfinder and No. 40 Neighborhood House Charter. Granby received the No. 21 seed and will travel to No. 12 Tahanto Regional in a Round of 32 meeting. The Rams (12-8) will play on Friday at 4 p.m.
Rounding out the local softball squads to qualify is No. 43 Belchertown, which will battle No. 22 Dedham in a preliminary round game on Friday. First pitch for the Orioles (14-4) is scheduled for 4 p.m.

Boys lacrosse
Fresh off its first Class B Western Mass. title in 22 years, the Amherst boys lacrosse team will look to carry that momentum over into the Div. 3 state tournament. The Hurricanes (10-6) got the No. 26 seed and will head to No. 7 Nashoba Regional in the Round of 32.
Northampton hopes to shake off its defeat to Amherst and go on a run of its own on the other side of the Div. 3 bracket. The No. 24 Blue Devils will stay relatively close with a Round of 32 game against No. 9 East Longmeadow.
In Div. 4, South Hadley (No. 28, 3-15) will head east for a bout with No. 5 Ipswich in the Round of 32, while Granby (No. 33, 9-8) will travel to No. 32 Hull in the prelim round.
Girls lacrosse
Despite a dominant regular season and a recent Class B Western Mass. championship, the Northampton girls lacrosse team will have to play on the road in its first Div. 2 state tournament game. The Blue Devils (17-2) drew No. 12 Westborough as the No. 21 seed in a Round of 32 matchup.
Amherst is in a similar situation as the Hurricanes will have to head to No. 31 North Attleborough in the prelim round of the Div. 2 tournament. Amherst (14-6) was given the No. 33 seed.
Lastly, in Div. 4, No. 23 South Hadley will go to No. 10 Nipmuc Regional for a Round of 32 affair. The Tigers (9-9) lost a heartbreaker to Wahconah in the Class C Western Mass. finals earlier this week.
