Reading the Leaves

East Hawley Road, Hawley

Photograph and text by Georgette deFriesse

I was looking for red leaves to photograph, but this rainy autumn it seemed as though red leaves were washed from the trees as fast as they turned. I was delighted when I approached this woodland pool and found a single bright red leaf floating on the water among the many orange and brown leaves. Frame the image carefully and the lone red leaf tells a tale of a great season for fall foliage. Created with a handheld DSLR camera using a medium zoom.
