The Atlantic 10 announced its matchups for the 2019-20 basketball season on Thursday.

Each team in the conference will play the other 13 teams at least once, and will play five schools twice to round out the 18-game slate. UMass basically has its 2018-19 schedule flipped this upcoming season with the exception of Saint Louis becoming a home-and-home and Saint Joseph’s only coming to Amherst.

In addition to the Billikens, UMass will play home-and-home with Dayton, George Mason, La Salle and Rhode Island this year. The other four conference teams coming to the Mullins Center this season are Duquesne, George Washington and VCU while the Minutemen will travel to Davidson, Fordham, Richmond and St. Bonaventure.

The 18 Atlantic 10 games add to some of UMass’ non-conference schedule that’s already been released. The Minutemen will host Central Connecticut State (Nov. 16), Northeastern, Rider (Nov. 20) and South Carolina, and travel to Rutgers. UMass will also participate in the Basketball Hall of Fame Tournament, playing defending national champions Virginia in the semifinals on Nov. 23 and then either St. John’s or Arizona State on Nov. 24.

MACTION — Also on Thursday, UMass announced it had agreed to a home-and-home series in football with former MAC rival Miami (Ohio).

The Minutemen will host the RedHawks on Sept. 9, 2023, and then travel to Oxford on Sept. 28, 2024. Miami becomes the fourth different MAC school UMass will play in 2024, which already featured road games at Buffalo and Northern Illinois along with a home game against Eastern Michigan.

Miami is also the seventh MAC school to schedule UMass since the Minutemen left the conference after the 2015 season.

DRAFT ELIGIBLE — Two UMass defensemen are expected to be selected Saturday when the NHL conducts the final six rounds of its annual draft.

Incoming freshman Zac Jones is projected to be picked in the third round after a breakout campaign for Tri-City in the United States Hockey League. Rising sophomore Marc Del Gaizo is also projected to be drafted Saturday after scoring 12 goals and supplying 15 assists during his first year with the Minutemen.
