Easthampton High School’s “Cinderella”

A revived version of the classic tale of “Cinderella” will be presented by the Easthampton High School Drama Club and Parents Council Nov. 15-18. The 2014 revival of the script by Rodgers and Hammerstein provides a new take on the story of “Cinderella” and has been nominated for nine Tony Awards.

The Nov. 15 show begins at 6 p.m., the Nov. 16-17 shows at 7 p.m. and the Nov. 18 show at 2 p.m., all in the Easthampton High School Auditorium. Tickets are $13 for adults and $9 for children, students and seniors and are available at the door or by phone at (413) 295-1585, ext 2554.

Musicians in Residence: Final Call

The 2018 Musicians in Residence program at Forbes Library in Northampton concludes Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. as members of Rub Wrongways Records, a Northampton independent record label, wrap up their sixth and final event.

Ryan McGovern Quinn, of the Salvation Alley String Band, will discuss topics such as how music can present complex ideas concisely. The Wednesday program, which is free, will also feature live performances by Henning Ohlenbusch, Lesa Bezo, Than Thomsen and Quinn.

Springfield Symphony Youth Orchestras 75th Season Fall Premier Concert

The Springfield Symphony Youth Orchestras will kick off their 75th anniversary seasons on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 3 p.m. in the Belchertown High School Auditorium.

This year’s Fall Premier Concert will start with the developmental Springfield Youth Sinfonia  led by longtime conductor Marsha Hassett. Following that will be a performance by the Springfield Symphony Youth Orchestra under the direction of Jonathan Lam.

Guest violinist, former SSYO member and concertmaster (and Belchertown native) Carson Marshall will join the Youth Orchestra for its final  piece. 

Tickets are are $25 for adults and $15 for youth and seniors and are available at the door.
