Clyde Santee transferring from UMass

UMass sophomore guard Clyde Santee announced Thursday that he planned to transfer via Twitter:

"Would like to thank everybody at UMass for a great two years and many of great experiences and new friends..decided to start my recruiting Process over to explore more options very thankful for everything @CoachKellogg has helped me with helping me grow as a player and person!!"

Santee, a Houston native, sat out the 2012-13 season as an academic nonqualifer, before becoming eligible last year. He played sparingly off the bench playing just 2.8 minutes per game in the 15 games he appeared in. He averaged 1.7 points and 0.5 rebound.

He showed prowess as a 3-point shooter making four of the nine he attempted.

He briefly became a fan favorite when he scored 13 points in the final six minutes in a blowout of Northern Illinois, but his otherwise inconsistent play prevented him from becoming a regular part of the rotation last year and wasn't projected to be a key player this year either.
