UMass Camp Superlatives Part I: - Intro, Best Athlete and Best Looking

Last modified: Tuesday, January 13, 2015
Last week at media day I asked 16 Minutemen the same 11 mostly fun questions, about their teammates and football in general:

Best Athlete on the Minutemen?Funniest Guy on the team?Best looking guy on the team?Best Singer on the team? Best basketball player on the team?Smartest player on the team?Favorite UMass Sport to Watch? If they couldn’t play football what sport would they play?Who has the best car on the team?If they could play a game in any stadium, which would they chose?Who is going to win Super Bowl?

Some questions had runaway winners. Others were hotly contested. Voter intimidation was rampant as many players openly campaigned to be chosen.

You can find the players' answers to all these pressing questions here over the next several days.

Most athletic: Trey Dudley Giles

I would have guessed this one. Dudley-Giles got four votes, including his own, edging Kassan Messiah (three) and redshirt freshman long snapper Emmett Odegard (two), who Stanley Andre and Steve Casali both voted for their and Odegard's amusement, Khary Bailey-Smith (two) and Jalen Williams (two).

Also receiving votes: Randall Jette, Marken Michel and Jamal Wilson.

Best Looking: Steve Casali and Vondell Langston

I debated whether of not to let the players vote for themselves on this one and decided to let them mostly for amusement value. Twelves of the voters, including Casali and Langston voted for themselves. The winners won with 1.5 votes a piece because Stanley Andre couldn't decide which one was better looking and split his vote. We're going to assume he picked them because they were both standing nearby.

Adam Richard and Jarrell Addo were the only other players to get votes from someone other than themselves.

The funniest comment belonged to Jovan Santos-Knox: - "It’s gotta be me, I get the most girls."
