AMHERST — A bicyclist was injured after being struck by a pickup truck Sunday around 7:30 p.m. while crossing Route 9 and University Drive, Amherst police reported.
Police were not releasing the names of the cyclist or the driver Sunday — or many other details about the accident. They said the cyclist was taken to an area hospital with unknown injuries following the collision.
Traffic was diverted around the accident site while emergency vehicles were at the scene.
Amherst Police Sgt. Jesus Arocho said the driver of the pickup had not been charged, but police were continuing their investigation of the crash.
