Louis C. Weigele

NORTHAMPTON - Louis C. Weigele, 94, of Florence, passed away Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at The Hospice of The Fisher Home in Amherst.

Born in Paterson, N.J., he was the son of the late Louis and Agathe M. (Mueller) Weigele.

Louis was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army in Europe. He was an auditor for the Prudential Insurance Co. for 47 years.

After living in Clifton, N.J., for 72 years, he and his wife Marge moved to Northampton 20 years ago. He was a member of the American Legion in Clifton. Cars and fixing things mechanical and electrical were his enjoyment.

His wife, Marjorie (Sayre) Weigele, passed away in 2004.

He is survived by his sons Richard S. Weigele of Basking Ridge, N.J., and Louis R. Weigele of Cleveland; his daughter Joan L. Weigele of Florence; his grandchildren Sophie and Adam Simkin of Israel; and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister Isabelle Smith.

A graveside service for Louis will be at a later date.

The dedicated care given by Mr. Nana Twene is deeply valued and will never be forgotten.
