Weekend nordic skiing: Amherst opens season in top 5

The Amherst Regional nordic ski team opened the season with a third place finish on the boys side and in fourth at the girls side Saturday at Prospect Mountain in Vermont.

Mount Greylock won the boys race with nine points and the girls race with 16.

The Hurricanes had 64 points on the boys side led by Luke Sedor Protti’s seventh-place finish in 17 minutes, 32 seconds.

Katherine King led the girls team in 17th at 23:11.
