NORTHAMPTON — As a Republican-controlled Congress continues to push for the repeal of the Affordable Care Act, a local group takes up the challenge of local impact.

Northampton Health Action will hold a community forum Wednesday, March 1, on how a repeal or changes to the ACA would impact Massachusetts residents.

The forum is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Northampton Friends Meetinghouse at 43 Center St., Northampton. The panel will include Gerald Friedman, University of Massachusetts Amherst economics professor; Jackie Wolf, co-chair of single-payer health insurance advocacy coalition Mass-Care; and Cheryl Zoll, executive director of Tapestry Health.

Friedman gained national attention last year for his study on the financing of single-payer health insurance, conducted for Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign.

The forum will focus on how the state will respond to a potentially large loss of Medicaid funding, as well as the two bills currently on the docket in Massachusetts legislature to implement “Medicare for All.”
