EASTHAMPTON — In its prominent Easthampton location near Pulaski Park at the rotary downtown, the property at 1 Northampton St. is set to be sold at a public auction this week.

The property is zoned for mixed use as a commercial-residential redevelopment building, and will be sold in its entirety on the premises on Friday at 1 p.m. per order of its current owner, One Northampton Street Enterprises Inc.

The building at 1 Northampton St. is about 6,840 square feet, sitting on about an acre of land, and the city collector’s office has recorded the property’s value at $627,800, having paid $8,768 in taxes over the last year.

The building has seven rooms with four restrooms, a brick exterior, hardwood floors, electric heat and a full basement. The interior walls are plastered and the ceiling is 12 feet high. The building also comes complete with an asphalt roof, handicap ramp and paved parking area for roughly 45 vehicles. It is zoned as a Neighborhood Business, and was previously home to a massage school and was earlier used as municipal offices when the city owned the property.

Additionally, the property has 325 feet of frontage on Northampton and Pleasant streets and 250 feet of frontage on Lyman Street.

Permitted uses of the property include religious purposes, child care, a public park or recreational facility, an administrative building, a library or museum, hospital, antique shop, pharmacy, hotel or residential housing.

There is a $25,000 deposit required at the time of auction in certified or bank funds. The deposit will be increased to 10% of the purchase price within five business days. A 5% buyer’s premium applies and other terms will be announced at the time of sale.
