Week 13 Reactions
Six quickie thoughts
1. Holy cow, welcome to the NFL, Reggie Bush (NO-WR). It's nice to finally see the guy we expected. The Saints rookie scored all four of the team's touchdowns Sunday.
2. Yes, Merrill Hoge and Ron Jaworski were right, there's no way Vince Young (TEN-QB) makes it in the NFL, especially not for two, three, four years. What were the Titans thinking taking him over Jay Cutler (DEN-QB) and Matt Leinart (ARZ-QB)?
3. Tony Romo (DAL-QB) was bound to look human again at some point. I could have guaranteed he'd do it after I wrote about him in the column.
4. I don't like posting about my personal teams, but I've had an incredibly awful run of luck the past few weeks in my three major leagues. Bush breaks out this week? I'm playing him. Bears Defense is incredible this week? Played them twice. Lee Evans (BUF-WR) in his crazy performance a few weeks ago? Playing me in two leagues. The list goes on and on. That's just the way it goes.
5. Is there any doubt that Mike Vanderjagt (FA-K) would have missed that kick that Martin Gramatica (DAL-K) made to beat the Giants? Still, someone has to give the liquored up one a chance, right?
6. Etc.: No way the Bears win the Super Bowl with Rex Grossman (CHI-QB) this year. ... So, how about that Bengals defense? ... I've got a feeling Laurence Maroney's (NE-RB) injury is a lot worse than having the wind knocked out of him. Looked more like a concussion-type hit. ... The Patriots defense is in a lot of trouble. ... Nice to see UMass alum Marcel Shipp (ARZ-RB) get a chance Sunday. He scored three touchdowns in the win. ... LT (SD-RB), is there anything more to say? ... Think the Texans should have gone with Young?
