· A vehicle driven by Yael Melissa Ben-Chaim, 18, of 422 Belchertown Road, Unit 113, was traveling westbound on Belchertown Road Tuesday at 6 p.m. when it struck a pothole, causing a passenger-side rear tire to blow out and the vehicle to veer into the eastbound lane where it collided head-on with a vehicle driven by Catherine C. Mullaney, 20, of Worcester, police said.

AMHERST - Police have issued a notice about a level 3 sex offender living in Amherst.

Robert A. Martinez, 31, whose address is the streets of Amherst, is described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet 3 inches tall and 225 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

80-year-old arrested in domestic assault

SOUTHAMPTON - An 80-year-old Northampton man was arrested for allegedly kicking his elderly wife in the parking lot of Big Y Thursday. Bruce A. Gibbs, of 34 Fruit St., Northampton, was arrested on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (his shoe) on a person 60 or older.
