Wednesday's Colleges: Lord Jeffs roll past Pride
Alex Philie and Madeline Tank each scored twice as the 10th-ranked Amherst College field hockey team stormed past Springfield 7-0 Wednesday in Springfield.
The Lord Jeffs improved to 4-0 with the win.
Katie McMahon and Krista Zsitvay each had a goal and one assist, while Ellie Anderson had one goal.
Rachel Tannenbaum made four saves for the shutout.
Women's soccer
Amherst 1, Springfield College 0 - Emily Little scored with less than 10 minutes remaining as the No. 6 Lord Jeffs (3-0) hung on in Springfield.
Smith College 3, Elms College 0 - Allie Rooney (assist), Jordan Houston and GiGi Ross each scored as the Pioneers (4-2) won in Northampton.
Olivia Mallari had one assist and Cody Norris made five saves for the shutout.
Men's soccer
Siena 3, UMass 1 - Josh Schwartz scored and Jake Murphy had the assist but the Minutemen (2-3-2) fell in New York.
Brian Frame made nine saves in the loss.
