Weekend high schools: Smith Academy field hockey shuts out Greenfield, plays Frontier for North Division title

Danielle Duseau had a goal and an assist as the Smith Academy field hockey team blanked Greenfield 3-0, Saturday in Hatfield.

Katie Yagodzinski and Kelly Ryan also scored for the Falcons (10-5-1, 8-1 North).

Isabelle Duseau had one assist, while Lauren Bradford (six saves) and Kayla Miastkowski (one save) combined for the shutout.

Smith Academy hosts Frontier (12-3-1, 8-1) at 3:30 p.m. Monday with the league title on the line. Smith beat Frontier 2-1 on Oct. 12.

Quaboag 1, Amherst 0 — Nadia Squitiero made 31 saves but the Hurricanes (2-12) fell on the road Saturday.

Boys soccer

Hopkins Academy 2, Smith Academy 0 — Evan Delaney and Chad Sanderson each had a goal as the Golden Hawks (14-1-1) won Saturday in Hatfield.

Connor Quinlin and Delaney each had an assist, while Ben Pitta made five saves for Hopkins.

Cam Woodward made eight saves for the Falcons (8-5-3).

Girls soccer

Smith Academy 2, Mohawk 2 — Hannah Rickert’s two first-half goals gave the Falcons a 2-0 lead at halftime, but the Warriors came back to tie in the second half Saturday.

Moira Pitrat and Mia Ellis each had one assist, while Brooke Pashek made six saves for Smith (10-4-2).
