UMass women’s lacrosse falls to No. 1 Northwestern
The University of Massachusetts women’s lacrosse struggled in the circle against No. 1 Northwestern and fell 16-4 in their season opener Friday at the University of Southern California.
The Wildcats won 16-of-22 draw attempts and outshot the No. 14 Minutewomen 33-12.
Four different players scored for UMass. Cori Murray, Tanner Guarino, Lauren Terracciano and Sam Rush each found the back of the net.
Rachel Vallarelli made 10 saves in the loss.
Northwestern led 10-2 at halftime.
UMass plays USC at 4 p.m. Sunday.
