Smith College uses balanced attack to down Simmons

Four different players scored as the Smith College field hockey team defeated Simmons 4-3 Wednesday on the road.

Jenny Estes, Allie Stein (assist), Kristen Estes (assist) and Grace Maliska each scored a goal as the Pioneers moved to 4-4.

Emma Camilleri had one assist, while Savannah Lawson and Abbey Fleming combined for three saves.

UMass Dartmouth 5, Worcester State 0 — Erica Allen of Amherst scored two goals as the Corsairs (5-3, 4-0 Little East) won in North Dartmouth.

Salem State 3, Southern Maine 1 — Michaela Boyer of South Hadley made five saves for the Vikings (7-1, 3-1 Little East) in the win at home.

Women’s soccer

Westfield State 3, Smith College 0 — Nicky Stasz of Easthampton made two saves as the Owls (9-0-1) won at home.

Cody Norris had six saves for the Pioneers (4-4).
