UMass baseball team falls to UConn

The University of Massachusetts baseball team couldn’t hold on to an early led and fell to UConn 5-4 in Storrs, Conn., Tuesday.

UMass scored a run in each of the first three innings, but a four-run sixth put the Huskies (24-16) on top for good.

Ryan Cusick went 4-for-4 with a walk, a run and an RBI, while Adam Picard was 3-for-5 in the loss.

DJ Jauss struck out two, walked two and allowed four hits and two earned runs over 51∕3 innings for the no decision.

Aaron Plunkett struck out two and took the loss in 22∕3 innings for UMass (9-22).
