HOLYOKE - A lane-closing on Interstate Route 91 is backing up traffic this afternoon.
Work on an overpass in Easthampton appears to be responsible for the delays.
A driver reported that traffic in Holyoke headed north was stop-and-go for miles, resulting in at least a 45-minute delay in getting to Exit 18 in Northampton from the Holyoke area.
The congestion eases north of the lane-closing related to the overpass construction, just south of the exit.
Traffic headed south was moving slowly but more easily, the driver said.
