Valerie M. Bialecki-Torrey: A plea to respect traffic signals at Easthampton bridge project
To the editor:
It happened again this morning. For the umpteenth time since the Manhan Bridge reconstruction began in June, a family member’s vehicle was almost T-boned by another vehicle whose driver chose to ignore the red light while making a left turn from West Street onto Route 10.
The traffic light at the West Street intersection is a functioning light for a reason. There are at least a dozen residents’ vehicles that can come up to that intersection from the bridge side.
When you factor in visitors, trucks for various deliveries, farm equipment and add in the earth-moving and construcion vehicles, you can see why everyone has to pay attention and follow the rules.
