William Saunders: A responsible paper gives both sides of an argument
To the editor:
I am amazed at the indignation with which your readers attacked the Gregory Clay article “Zimmerman jury delivered correct verdict” July 17. They seem to argue that the Gazette should not have printed it just because they disagree. Some even called Clay a racist. This is a remarkable accusation since Clay is black.
But that is neither here nor there. Clay has the right to argue the case as he sees it and the Gazette has a right to print it. A responsible paper should give both sides to an argument.
I wouldn’t want my local paper to be just a propaganda organ for any political faction.
