Douglas Cooley: Easthampton schools should be open on voting days
To the editor:
I don’t understand this.
The children of Easthampton went to school April 30 and they had voting for a senator. When they vote for a president and city elections they have a day off from school.
To me it doesn’t make any sense to have a day off from school.
When they have any voting there should be school.
Voting for a senator is just as important as voting for the president.
The city of Northampton never closes schools when people are voting for president, mayor or any city elections.
I think in Easthampton they should go to school on voting days.
