Ali Ziomek: Extravaganja deserves continued community support
To the editor:
Extravaganja, which took place on the sacred April 20 this year, is a gathering at which everyone can agree on one idea: legalizing marijuana.
The event (Gazette story, “Grassroots reform,” April 22) focused solely on legalization in a positive way, rather than on an uptight opinion of a non-believer. My praises go to both the people attending for keeping the event so contained and to the police for only stepping in when necessary.
There is no reason why this celebration should not continue, as the writer quoted the police chief as saying traffic was more of a concern than the behavior of the people.
As long as Extravaganja can exist in a contained manner, it should continue to receive support from the community.
