Leaving schools unattended leads to tragedy

To the editor:

While most lawmakers will only admit this privately, the vast majority of local, state and federal elected officials have know for years that leaving grade schools, when in session, unattended without security or police personnel present at the schools access point is a calculated risk which, some day, could be the main factor in a terrible tragedy.
