Valley’s political left shows scant tolerance
To the editor:
As a native of Northampton and a lifelong conservative I often wonder why my liberal friends seem angry all the time. A recent letter referenced Fox News and noted that the writer avoids Fox like the plague. I, however, will occasionally watch CNN and MSNBC to see what the other side has to say. I asked a friend who echoes the writer’s feeling about Fox why he didn’t watch. His answer was “they lie.” I asked him how he knew that if he never watched it. He puts his faith in Chris Matthews when he says Fox lies.
The other day I was driving through Hadley and the car in front of me had two bumper stickers. The one on the left said “Love tea — Hate tea partyers.” The one on the right said “Tolerance.” Do your homework folks, practice what you preach and it will be a much happier Valley.
Oh, and by the way, the fact that the bumper sticker on the right was the one that said “tolerance” is very appropriate.
