Qualifications alone should decide register post
To the editor:
Folks in the Valley pride themselves on being open-minded, sensible and arriving at informed decisions.
As the Hampshire County Register of Deeds is a non-partisan position, I am urging voters to recognize and support the most qualified candidate and not cast the “duty vote” of a political party. Word is, the Democratic candidate is being rewarded for her good efforts as a party activist and for her work on various campaigns. I am offended by this, if this is indeed the case. It would mean that she is being set up for this position, not based upon her qualifications, but solely as a reward for previous political endeavors.
Again, I urge the voters of Hampshire County to do the right thing and base your votes on qualifications; do your research and vote for the more qualified candidate.
