Kent Hicks: A tip of the hat to Amherst Woodworking

To the editor:

Thank you Amherst Woodworking.

It is unfortunate that Copper Beech Millwork/Amherst Woodworking will be closing their doors.

The Valley and region are architecturally richer because of the large selection of finely detailed moldings, custom cabinetry and beautiful hardwoods that Amherst Woodworking supplied. Their offerings were top quality and there was a depth of variety.

For many years they have provided us great service and materials. With their attention to customer service and knowledge of the product, we who counted on them will be at a huge loss. Amherst Woodworking was unique among suppliers. This is an example of how in difficult financial times, as well as in these days of big box stores and online purchases, it is more important than ever to support local businesses that enrich our lives. Thank you to David Short and all the staff for treating us more like family than just customers. Thank you for all the years of collaborations, community and exemplary service.
