Elizabeth Moulton: Seeks Southampton Select Board seat
To the editor:
My name is Elizabeth Moulton and I am running for a position on Southampton’s Select Board. Raised in Southampton, I attended Larrabee and William E. Norris schools. I graduated from Hampshire Regional High School and went on to attend Westfield State College. My children will attend the same schools I did and be lucky enough to be students of some of the same teachers that were instrumental in shaping the person I am today.
The older I get, the more I realize I would like to be a part of making some of the decisions that have been made for me over the years. I would like to help maintain the small-town feel and close-knit community that I find so appealing about Southampton.
The number of households with school-age children is increasing. In my position as food service director at the Norris School, I have been able to meet most families with children, as well as some of their extended families. I feel I listen, am open-minded and could serve as a voice for those families. As costs continue to rise, we will all be faced with hard financial decisions. If elected, I can help find fiscally responsible solutions without sacrificing the services that are so important to us.
I am confident that I will help to keep Southampton a community we are proud to call home.
