Keep Newtown victims ‘front and center’
To the editor:
Please review your policies that encourage you to put photos of evil people and stories about them and their hateful, hurtful actions on the front page ... or in your paper at all.
On Dec. 26, the photo and article of people at the memorial next to the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., which you placed on Page 4, should have been on the front page.
Not only would it have been more appropriate for the front page, it demonstrated the true meaning and spirit of Christmas. The article was heart-warming and it moved me to tears. Please focus on and do not forget about those who continue to need our support for weeks and months to come.
Do not shift them to the middle of the paper, replaced by photos and stories that are offensive to many, many of us. Keep those in need front and center.
Use your paper to do good work.
