The bedevilment of closet Republicans
To the editor:
Dr. Jay Fleitman argues that many people he knows believe as he does: that the slothful, willfully unemployed, high living, early-retiring poor with their “subsidized” health care are bankrupting the nation. He suggests that even though Barack Obama’s leadership is obviously disastrous for African-Americans, “It is simply accepted in their community that black folks vote for Democrats.”
Although Dr. Fleitman never offers any shred of evidence to back up his “talk-radio” quality assertions, we can infer that those “black folks” don’t know enough to vote in their own interests. And the rest of these closet Republicans were maybe bedeviled by Democratic ward wizards? But I will agree with Dr. Fleitman about that ranting friend with the Archie Bunker-like bombast.
She does sound like a Republican.
