Recalling JFK’s outreach to nation’s Latino voters
To the editor:
I found the Nov. 26 story about President John F. Kennedy addressing the audience of Latinos the night before his assassination to be moving. Those who leave this world prematurely we elevate almost to the level of a saint, but for those who believed in what Kennedy stood for, it’s reassuring to revisit his accomplishments.
Kennedy was listening to the voice of the Latinos 50 years previous to an election in which we felt the group was finally letting its voice being heard loud and strong in a presidential election.
