Wishing a once-in-a-lifetime teacher well
To the editor:
Once in a lifetime, a special teacher comes along in your child’s life that connects with them, inspires them, guides them along and is just a great person. We are lucky to have this teacher named Jason Scavotto at Northampton High School.
My daughter now loves school and comes home almost every day telling me a new story about how Mr. Scavotto helped a student or a joke he told and just how much she truly loves him. She says how a certain student (who is a football star this year) talks about how he would have never made it through high school without him.
Mr. Scavotto left NHS in late October to pursue another job closer to where he lives, and even as my daughter and the other students are saddened, they only wish him the best.
I am proud to have met this wonderful teacher and I know the students he leaves behind will be OK because they still have Melissa Power-Greene, Yajaira Fuentes, Kathy Goodwin-Boyd and our amazing Vice Principal Bryan Lombardi, who all have gone up and above to help not only my children but many others succeed and feel confident throughout their high school experience.
