Candidate Olberding has earned public’s trust
To the editor:
On Nov. 6, we will vote for Mary Olberding, a progressive Democrat, for Register of Deeds for Hampshire County.
Mary has the leadership experience needed to move the registry in the right direction. Her significant management and communication skills give her the tools needed to efficiently run an office with daily challenges while anticipating and planning for future long-term needs. Her ability to connect with people will support local patrons on a day-to-day basis and clearly represent our districts’ needs at the state level as needed.
The suggestion in a letter to the Gazette published Oct. 17 that Mary’s place on the ballot is due to cronyism is just plain false. The prominent and well-respected people that chose to put their reputations on the line to endorse Mary did so with good reason.
They have placed their confidence and trust in her character and qualifications. To imply otherwise is offensive. Mary is able to see the big picture needed to move the registry forward while maintaining a focus on serving individual needs of the citizens of Hampshire County.
Mary Olberding has our vote.
