DIVISION 1
No. 2 East Longmeadow (18-4) vs. No. 4 Westfield (14-8), 7:30
Previous titles:
Spartans none; Bombers none
Losses: East Longmeadow — Northampton, Westfield, Long Island Lutheran, Amherst; Westfield — Commerce, Cathedral, Wareham, Northampton twice, East Longmeadow, Amherst twice
Projected starting lineups: Spartans: Ryan Mickiewicz 6-0 Sr. G, James Bertier 5-11 Sr. G, Mike Ahmed 6-2 Sr. G, Dan Martin 6-3 Sr. F, Devin Abad 6-6 Sr. C; Bombers: Connor McMahon 5-9 Sr. G, Alex Garstka 5-11 Jr. G, Dylan Willey 6-1 Sr. G, Aaron Rogers 6-2 Sr. F, Joe Mead 6-5 So. F
Postseason team stats: Offense: E.L. 70 ppg; Westfield 66 ppg; Defense: E.L. 38.5 ppg; Westfield 60.5 ppg
Players to watch: EL Ryan Mickiewicz, Dan Martin; Westfield Aaron Rogers, Alex Garstka
Quick Hits: At first glance it appears the Spartans are the overwhelming favorite. But, East Longmeadow won 50-48 at home then lost 76-71 on the road. If the Bombers shoot well and Jordan Santiago plays well off the bench Westfield has a shot. The Spartans are slightly deeper and more balanced. They can withstand foul trouble better than Westfield.
Pick: East Longmeadow

DIVISION 2
No. 1 Sabis (21-2) vs. No. 2 Hoosac (19-3), 4
Previous titles:
Bulldogs 2009, 2007, 2006 (all D3 titles); Hurricanes: 2009, 2003
Losses: Sabis — Northampton, Groton-Dunstable; Hoosac — Brattleboro, Sabis, Taconic
Projected starting lineups: Bulldogs: Andre King 6-0 Sr. G, Xavier Garcia 5-7 Fr. G, Kamali Bey 6-3 So. G, John Williams 6-3 Jr. F, Eddie Hall 6-4 Jr. F; Hurricanes: Nick Aitken 5-8 Jr. G, Nick Bourdon 5-11 Jr. G, Hunter Gaylord 5-10 Sr. G; Robbie Burke 6-5 Sr. F, Zach Ziemba 6-3 Sr. F
Postseason team stats: Offense: Sabis 71.5 ppg; Hoosac 51.5 ppg; Defense: Sabis 48 ppg; Hoosac 46.5 ppg
Players to watch: Sabis Andre King, Kamali Bey; Hoosac Robbie Burke
Quick Hits: The highly anticipated matchup in the HoopHall Classic turned out to be a slight dud as Burke got in foul trouble early and Sabis took control en route to a 67-48 win. With Burke on the floor Hoosac is obviously tough. Same thing goes with Bey and King for Sabis. Bey was in early foul trouble against Northampton and King was off from the outside. The Blue Devils won 55-52. Let’s hope foul trouble doesn’t play its part.
Pick: Sabis

DIVISION 3
No. 1 New Leadership (19-3) vs. No. 2 Saint Joseph (16-6), 12:30
Previous titles:
Wildcats: 2004; Saints: 2001, 1995, 1994, 1988, 1985, 1984, 1982, 1975
Losses: NLCS — East Longmeadow, Sabis twice; St. Joe’s —  Taconic twice, Lenox, Mount Greylock, Lee, Hoosac Valley
Projected starting lineups: NLCS: Eric Brown 5-10 Sr. G, Phillip Warrick 5-10 Sr. G, Tyrell Springer 5-11 So. G, Sean Congeiter 6-3 Sr. F, DeVonte Vanderpool 6-3 Sr. F; Saints: Taverick Roberson 5-8 Fr. G, Danny Joslyn 6-0 Sr. G, Brandon Casella 6-2 Jr. F, Dylan Kelsey 6-0 Jr. F, Michael McMahon 6-3 So. C
Postseason team stats: Offense: NLCS 73.5 ppg; St. Joe’s 66.5 ppg; Defense: NLCS 56.0 ppg; St. Joe’s 58.5 ppg
Players to watch: NLCS Phil Warrick, DeVonte Vanderpool; St. Joe’s Taverick Roberson, Michael McMahon
Quick Hits: Since the Division 3 tournament was formed in 1972, St. Joe’s has been to 16 sectional finals, including 10 of 11 from 1982 to 1992. The Saints are finally back for the first time since 2001. New Leadership is a heavy favorite but don’t count out St. Joe’s, which beat Drury during the season. Roberson is one of the best freshman in western Massachusetts.
Pick: NLCS
