WEEK 7 — THURSDAY, OCT. 15

Leah Haake (Amherst Regional cross country)
This week’s weather has changed drastically, I’ve even heard that a snowfall is possible. As a team, we might just have to pull out our neon winter running gear since it is starting to get darker sooner.

Steph Slysz (Smith Academy field hockey)
This week has been Smith Academy’s Homecoming week! Saturday consists of a parade through town with each class making a float. Then we head back to the school where the soccer games take place and food is sold. So come Saturday to support the school. It’s time for good food and good games!

Abby Majewski (Providence volleyball/Frontier grad)
Suffered a tough loss against Central Conn. this week, looking forward to playing Hartford on Wednesday. Hopefully we’ill come out with a W!

Paul Norton (Brandeis cross country/Amherst Regional grad)
This weekend was a great one for Brandeis cross country as we finished 11th at the All New England Championships on Saturday.  It put us third among DIII squads and was the best finish by a Brandeis team since 1998!  Things are going great for us as we are coming around at just the right time.

Molly Brooks (Northampton field hockey)
Every year, the junior and senior girls compete against each other in a flag football game called “powderpuff”. This year the game is on Thursday, the 29th at 8 pm at the NHS stadium. It will be a lot of fun so be sure to come!

Nicholas Rouzier (Villanova soccer/Amherst Regional grad)
1-1 past two games. DNP due to hamstring strain. Vs depaul on Saturday. Optimistic about playing. Finished midterm exams. Engineering work never ends.

Jamey Mercer (South Hadley boys soccer)
Great week so far! Two 1-0 victories over Southwick and Belchertown. Two extremely well played matches for our guys. Now 4-1 in our last 5 games we are well on our way to turning our season around. Night game at Hampshire Regional tonight. Huge game. Could even our record at 5-5-2.

Danielle Parenteau (MCLA soccer/Hampshire Regional grad)
Big conference game against Framingham State tomorrow. A win would make us 4-1 in the conference. I think we have the heart that it takes to take home a conference championship this year.
