WEEK 6 — THURSDAY, OCT. 8
Sean Gaudette (Hopkins Academy golfer)
The team has improved to 12-2 on the season.  We hope to carry our strong play into critical league matches coming up.  The college recruiting process has been exciting and stressful, at the same time.  I am expecting to make a commitment to a school in the next few weeks.

Leah Haake (Amherst Regional cross country)
Last saturday we ran a trail race in VT and it was the most fun race we’ve ever run! Pouring rain + rivers in middle of the trail + mountains + the most mud I’ve ever seen + 200 girls + 1/2 spikes = A real xc race

Steph Slysz (Smith Academy field hockey)
Smith Academy fall sports are doing spectacular. Boy’s and girl’s soccer, golf, and field hockey are first in their leagues! Considering our small size and no tryouts/cuts for our teams, it’s impressive that they are all so successful. Go Smith!!

Abby Majewski (Providence volleyball/Frontier grad)
Had our last home game/ senior day against Bryant on Wednesday. Team played the best we have all year.. was a great night!

Paul Norton (Brandeis cross country/Amherst Regional grad)
Believe it or not, playing the scherzo of the Schumann piano quintet gets the heart pumping and endorphins going as much as any track workout!  The fast pace of the piece and amount of things going on makes for a wild ride when you’re playing.

Molly Brooks (Northampton field hockey)
Today I got back my progress report in which I did pretty well for how hectic my schedule is. Also, to my surprise I was packed pizza for lunch instead of the regular PB&J. Things are looking up...

Nicholas Rouzier (Villanova soccer/Amherst Regional grad)
1-0 lose vs Lafayette. 1-1 tie vs st johns. Midterms this week. Too much work too little time. No classes next week, fall break.  Did ok on wastewater test. At Syracuse on 10/7 and away at cincinnati 10/10.

Jamey Mercer (South Hadley boys soccer)
Wednesday was exactly what we needed. A dominating 4-0 performance over Frontier. Freshman Ryan Dickinson scored all 4 goals for us with 2 assists from Greg Daviau, and one each for Roberto Agrait and myself. Just a great game for the young kid. This win is just what we needed to gain momentum and turn our season around. Big game today vs Monson.

Danielle Parenteau (MCLA soccer/Hampshire Regional grad)
Brrrr. The weather changed quick. One advantage of going to school in the Berkshires- the leaves are gorgeous! I love playing soccer during this time of year but Im not really looking forward to playing in snow flurries in a few weeks!
