WEEK 5 — THURSDAY, OCT. 1
Sean Gaudette (Hopkins Academy golfer)

Our team has improved to 9-1 overall, with a few very important league matches coming up over the next few weeks.  I would like to congratulate my friend and teammate, Dan Sullivan, on his even par 36 at Hickory Ridge CC this past Thursday against Mahar.

Leah Haake (Amherst Regional cross country)
The college process is looming! Writing a quality essay, early vs regular decision, making sure all components of my applications are complete and finding time!

Steph Slysz (Smith Academy field hockey)

Smith Academy field hockey: 8-0. One more win until we are qualified for tournament! The season has been going so well. As a team though, we stay grounded because we know once you’re at the top, the only place to go is down.

Abby Majewski (Providence volleyball/Frontier grad)
Last home game on Tuesday... I’m not quite sure how four seasons flew by so fast! Reality is slowly setting in...

Paul Norton (Brandeis cross country/Amherst Regional grad)

The saying is cliche, but I’m coming to realize more that a cross-country team is only as good as its 5th man. I’m experiencing that first hand now.  Our team has a group of four guys who have run great at the front of races, but the 5th to our dropoff is huge.  If somebody doesn’t step up into that 5th spot, we could go from a top 10 team nationally to not even qualifying!

Molly Brooks (Northampton field hockey)
Deciding a major can be very perplexing. Often one has to pick between a subject they are passionate about, and one that will make money. I have decided that in order to get the most out of education I must pursue something I am passionate and curious about.

Nicholas Rouzier (Villanova soccer/Amherst Regional grad)
Past 4 games: 2-1 Loss vs. UConn, 1-0 win vs. PC, 1-0 Loss vs G’town, 4-1 win vs Seton Hall. Out shot every team and played well.  Vs Lafayette 9/30 and Nationally Ranked St Johns 10/2. Next week, 2 lab reports due along with 3 tests for midterms.  Received 98.3 on last Structural Analysis Test, 2nd highest in both classes. Forgot to post last week due to amount of homework

Jamey Mercer (South Hadley boys soccer)

Well played game on Monday VS Belchertown. We tied 2-2 but it was a very interesting soccer game. Lots of chances both ways. Wednesday didnt go so well. enough said. Unfortunately we lost Roberto Agrait to a leg injury. Its’s gonna be tough to replace him for a week or two. Lets see if we can bounce back friday at Athol.

Danielle Parenteau (MCLA soccer/Hampshire Regional grad)
My lime green cast and I are back on the field finally! Took home a win Tuesday with a 2-0 victory over Mount Holyoke. Big one tomorrow against Salem!
