WEEK 3 — FRIDAY, SEPT. 18
Sean Gaudette (Hopkins Academy golfer)

Throughout the last few weeks I have learned how critical team chemistry is to athletic performance.  It shows up over and over again, even in a sport as seemingly individual as golf.

Steph Slysz (Smith Academy field hockey)
Smith Academy field hockey has the reputation and expectation to be good every year. It can be a lot of pressure at times, but as players, we realize we are representing a long standing tradition of success. As a team, we’re proud to be a part of that.

Abby Majewski (Providence volleyball/Frontier grad)
So happy I got to see my family this week at our game against Dartmouth. Trying to stay focused and get all of my work done before we leave for our tournament in South Carolina!

Paul Norton (Brandeis cross country/Amherst Regional grad)
It seems like things are firing on all cylinders for me right now. Classes are going great, in just two rehearsals my chamber music has worked through the entire first movement of the Schumann piano quintet. The running has been going great too, and I’m excited to see how we perform in our first race this weekend at UMass Dartmouth.

Molly Brooks (Northampton field hockey)

Northampton field hockey has had two consecutive ties this week. One being against East Longmeadow on Monday and the other to Cathedral on Wednesday. We are looking forward to the game today at West Springfield at 3:30.

Nicholas Rouzier (Villanova soccer/Amherst Regional grad)
Two good wins last weekend. 2-1 vs. Binghamton, 3-1 vs. Fordham. Play vs. National ranked UConn Friday and then vs. Providence College Sunday. Ton of Engineering work, first test this past Wednesday in Fluid Mechanics.

Jamey Mercer (South Hadley boys soccer)

So I received a yellow card Monday for breaking up a potential fight during our game against Central. How ridiculous is that? I get booked for protecting my players and halting a potentially hazardous situation! Makes sense. Punish the responsible one.

Danielle Parenteau (MCLA soccer/Hampshire Regional grad)

Spent last Thursday night in the ER with a broken arm. Had my surgery on Monday and everything went fine — Hoping to be back on the field in no time!
