Yahoo! Mail changes are frustrating some users

Hi Paris--   Yahoo changed their address book so it's only a tiny little box organized by first names; the previous format was organized on pages and by last name.  I can't stand it!  I have to search all up & down the one list now for all my relatives with the same last name?! --Gwen

OK, Gwen.  I'm not a Yahoo mail user, so I went and set up an account to see what you're talking about. I see a Contacts folder.  I see that the Contacts can only be sorted by First Name or by Email Address.  That seems crazy.  Lots of people want to use Last Name to sort.  So I see a link at the top to use "Classic Mail"--I tried that.  Very different look, but again, the Contacts can only be sorted by First Name.  Interesting, though, when I switched from the new Beta to Yahoo! Mail Classic, I got the chance to give them feedback, so I told them about not being able to sort.  Also, when you use Classic, the Help section has a "Send Feedback" form that allows you to send in your request.  I suggest you use that.

On their user forum, I found other users as frustrated as you are: http://tinyurl.com/muh9dw

So for now, complain.  Hopefully, if enough do, they will return the ability to sort by "Last Name. "

yahoo address book

I don't use yahoo as my primary e-mail source, but why don't you enter contacts backwards? In other words, instead of entering Jane Smith, enter Smith Jane. Then, when it sorts by first name, it will think Smith is the first name...
