Updates for Sept 4.
In case you missed it, here is the link to the introductory story that ran in Thursday's paper. We are having some photo issues with that link, but the story is there. I'm also re-running everyone's intro questions below this week's updates:
Molly Brooks
Everyone’s favorite time of the fall season is here: tryouts. When each team works their socks off until they can’t work anymore. The drills and clipboards make it a very nerve racking time to be an athlete. But by the looks of things, its a new year for sports at NHS. Everyone is excited to make those who wanted to cut athletics eat their words.
Steph Slysz
Senior year in one word: intense. Field hockey, work, AP Calculus, college deadlines, yearbook co-editor and class president, my year has already begun with a bang. So am I excited? Yes! Bring it on.
Leah Haake
Last Thursday was officially my last first day of high school. I am super excited to start my senior year especially since the cross country season is beginning once again!
Abby Majewski
Got back Sunday from our first tournament in Niagara. Off to a decent start, 1-2, despite graduating 5 of our 6 starters last year. Looking forward to racking up more wins!
Danielle Parenteau
Done with day 10 of preseason. Kind of weird that my friends have already started classes and I’m still playing soccer twice a day. Junior year starts in 7 days :)
Eddie Jewel
The hard work is over boys now its time for some fun... beat Colgate!
Nicholas Rouzier
Villanova University Men’s Soccer team good first win 1-0 against #17 Loyola. Next game Friday vs. Temple and then Monday vs. UPenn. Named starting center back and captain. Excited to lead team to more victories.
Paul Norton
September is always an interesting month for a fall athlete because you have so many questions. How does your team stack up, what do other teams have? Every season always has its own surprises and unexpected outcomes in store. I can’t help but wonder what surprises this season will bring.
Jamey Mercer
Team is coming along. Vast improvements have already been made. We are well on our way.
Sean Gaudette
This week my high school team began practices with our first match scheduled for Tuesday, September 8th at Mahar. After the first few days, my initial impressions of the team are very good. We should have a very successful season, with our six starters all returning. I would like to congratulate my friend and teammate, Thomas Hutchings, on his career low round on Wednesday, this week.
