Gaffney to Israel?

According to an Israeli web site, former Minuteman big man Tony Gaffney has signed to play in Israel:

Tony Gaffney, who was ranked third in the NCAA last season with 3.8 blocks
per evening, signed today with Hapoel Galil/Gilboa for next season.

Tony Gaffney (24, 2.04 m), who just graduated from the University of
Massachusetts, signed today with Hapoel Galil/Gilboa for next season.
He joins Gonzaga's Jeremy Pargo who signed during the weekend and Isiah
Swann and Dion Dowell who continue from last year.

Gaffney transferred to Umass from the University of Boston, and
played for the Minutemen in the last two years. As a senior he averaged
11.5 points, 10.2 rebounds (17th in the NCAA), 1.7 assists, 2.0 steals
and 3.8 blocks, which ranked him third in the nation!

The Boston-born forward had 12 double-doubles and 30 games, and was
one block short (15 pts, 18 rebs) from setting a rare triple double
against Boston College. He was named Atlantic-10 defensive player of
the year.

After going undrafted, Gaffney played for the world champions LA
Lakers in the NBA's summer league, where he averaged 3.8 points and 2.8
boards in 16 minutes per game.

I'm not sure if this deal is in case he doesn't make the Lakers or if it knocks him out of Lakers camp. I have a few calls out. Updates here when I get them.
