Terrell Vinson verbally commits to the Minutemen
University of Massachusetts coach Derek Kellogg got the last piece of his recruiting class as Baltimore native Terrell Vinson committed to the Minutemen late Monday night.
Vinson, a 6-foot-7 forward, who could potentially play either forward spot, chose the Minutemen over Maryland, Cincinnati, Charlotte and Loiusville.
Rivals.com ranked him as a four-star recruit and the No. 90 player in the high school class of 2009. Vinson originally committed to Loyola Marymount, but opened his recruiting when former UMass assistant coach Bill Bayno stepped down.
Scout.com praised his approach.
"Noted for his cerebral play and work ethic, he brings a junk yard dog approach to the game," the recruiting web site reports in it's player analysis.
He played at the Reebok All-America camp in the Summer of 2008.
There were rumors that Vinson had committed earlier this month, but he didn't commit until late Monday.

Vinson joins a class that will have a huge influence on Kellogg's early tenure in Amherst. He'll play along several other Baltimore-D.C. area players including guard Javorn Farrell, and big man Raphiael Putney. Florida shooting guard Freddie Riley and Winchedon forward Sampson Carter, a Memphis native who spent last year at Winchendon give the Minutemen a strong five man class.
Vinson is expeted to sign a letter of intent shortly. The spring signing period extends to the middle of next month.
